Dr. Rer. Medic. Petrit Beqiri | Chairman of the Board
Mr. Beqiri has a wide professional knowledge in various fields of health and management. He was a lecturer and researcher at two prominent universities in Germany: Technical University of Munich and Martin Luther University. Currently, he is lecturer at the Higher School of Applied Sciences, Munich. After his hard work in advancing higher education in Kosovo and southeastern Europe through international institutional cooperation, he founded “Network of Southeast Europe for development of health and nursing”. Mr. Beqiri has led dozens of national and internationals projects and he has authored many papers and scientific articles. Under his supervision, many symposiums and international scientific conferences have been organized. He has a long experience in healthcare consulting and he also teaches training courses and seminars in this filed. Mr. Beqiri had used his advisory activities and his managerial skills for the establishment of German- Albanian magazine and he has founded associations with education character.
Dr. Naime Brajshori | Deputy Chairman of the Board
Mrs. Dr. Naime Brajshori has successfully completed her Master and Doctoral Studies in Health and Nursing Sciences at Martin-Luther-University in Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. In 2007, she co-founded the Institute of Southeast Europe for Health and Social Policy. The ISEE-HSP was founded through DAAD Support (2005-2010 projects) in framework of the program: Academic reconstruction and academization of nursing education in Southeastern Europe. Since 2010, Dr. Brajshori is in lead of “Heimerer College”, a German-Kosovar Higher Education Institution in the field of health sciences. Her research activities are focused in the field of Patient Safety and Quality Assurance of health care services and management of healthcare system. Dr. Brajshori was a lecturer for 10 years at University of Prishtina, more specifically at Medical Faculty, Department of Nursing and Midwifery. At the moment, she leads three Erasmus + Projects in the fields of: Innovation, Multidisciplinary and Startups in health sciences. In last 10 years she was working actively in comparison of nursing curriculum trends (Bachelor) to make study programs that are compatible with European standards and specifically with German education models.
Pierre Weber| Member of the Board
Mr. Pierre Weber, Msc in social psychology from the Free University of Brussels, has a long career in diplomacy and international development, having worked with a number of NGOs, UNDP, UNMIK, the EU Preparation Mission in Kosovo, as well as with the Foreign Service of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, heading the Luxembourg Embassy to the Republic of Kosovo for eight years. In parallel he is an active musician, one the one hand as a pianist and choir conductor who is giving regular concerts in Europe and Australia, and on the other hand as a prolific composer, specifically of choir music.
Ilir Hoxha | Member of the Board
Ilir Hoxha is a public health specialist and health services researcher with a longstanding interest in the role of health systems factors in the provision of health care. His research and professional interests have been associated with the effect of financial incentives and health financing structures in the provision of care, examination of barriers to access for care, quality of care assessment and the design of strategies and policies for health care improvements. More recently, Hoxha has been showing increasing interest in preventive medicine and the development of disease risk prediction models.
Since 2002, Hoxha has been involved in advisory and research work supporting health policy and its implementation. Between 2010 and 2014 he served as an external advisor for the Ministers of Health of the Republic of Kosovo, focusing primarily in matters related to the implementation of health insurance reform. Ilir has teaching affiliations with Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Heimerer College in Prishtina. His research work has been published in the BMJ Open, European Journal of Public Health and Health and Human Rights.
He has received MD from the University of Prishtina, a MS in Health Systems Management from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Bern. He has completed a residency in public health at the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo. He has also been a Fulbright Research Fellow at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
