The article on “Migration Intent of Health Care Workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Kosovo” is finally published!
Our study on healthcare worker migration is now up on Journal for Environmental and Public Health Research – at MDPI (IF. 3.39)!
We surveyed Kosovo Healthcare Workers to explore their migration intent, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. This is one of the first studies in RKS 🇽🇰 exploring post-pandemic migration of HCWs. Our main findings are:
– Almost 15% of the sample declare intend to migrate, and ~24% report higher intent after COVID-19 pandemic;
– Wages and working conditions influence likelihood of migration intent
– Higher educated workers, and those in the private sector are more inclined to report aspiration to migrate
– Interpersonal relationships and attitude to the state response are also linked to migration intent.
This study was carried out in cooperation with the Trade Union of Health Federations in Kosovo.
